When companies are looking to start a project to make more profit, they will research the competition. Usually they will hold a meeting with stakeholders. In the meeting they will discuss the competition’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities for growth and their threats.  The will analyze who the main completion is. Once a full people of who exactly the completion is, it is easier to define your strategy.

Making the project objective more concrete and help you understand the expectations of what the project will accomplish. Knowing the overall approach to a porch is very important so that you understand how, as a designer, you will be involved. You will know how to involve the business partners and your other team members.

Quality is important to remember for any project. Making a project for a good quality can set I apart from the others. There are a few issues to consider.  If a product is poorly designed but high in quality, you audience may not notice the quality of the overall product.  From a designer’s stand point it can be very disappointing. Also, quality can be very pricy. The higher it cost to make a product, the lower the profit will be. Everyone on the team will suffer from this. However, high quality product can make a good difference. They can produce high premiums and make a buyer go to extreme costs to get them.

Lowering costs is always important in today’s economy. Clients are looking for ways to make profit while spending the least amount of money possible. As a designer, part of their cost is just doing design work. The value they receive should be more than the designer’s profit on the project. As a designer you should help the client in a effective way by looking at recycled materials or old layouts and templates. Along with design there are other costs these include raw materials, tax, office and storage spaces, legal cost, etc.
